Mosasaurus is a genus of large mosasaur. It is known for fossils in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and New Zealand. It is the largest mosasaur with a length of 56 ft (18m). This is larger than a Tyrannosaurus. It ate various types of aquatic animals, with evidence suggesting it may have even eaten other mosasaurs. It had a powerful, crushing bite that could destroy ammonites.
