New Zealand

Dunedin has a Mayor, elected "at large" in the New Zealand tradition, and fourteen other councillors, elected on a ward basis. The Mosgiel-Taieri and Waikouaiti Coast-Chalmers wards have vast rural areas containing a few towns, while the Cargill, Green Island-Saddle Hill, Hills, and South Dunedin wards contain substantial populations in the main urban area and relatively small populations in rural fringes.

Details of Mosgiel-Taieri ward[]

Extent[]

Coastal areas (and their catchments) from the Taieri River mouth north-east for a few kilometres, and half the length of that river, including Mosgiel and Middlemarch.
