The Warehouse (allegedly "where everyone gets a bargain") is a large home-grown chain of "red sheds" that sell a bit of almost everything.
In 2024 there was talk of closing some of the stores but March 2025 brought news that the company was back in profit.
They provide stiff though currently limited competition to the grocery duopoly. A 2-litre bottle of basic milk was priced at $3.80 in March 2025; Meadowlea Original $3.90; River Mill bread $1.20 for 600 grams; Weet-Bix $7.50 for 1.2 kilograms (but 2 for $14 until mid-April).
