Tranz Metro was for several years the operator of Greater Wellington's passenger rail service. The service extends from Wellington Railway Station as far as Waikanae and Masterton.
In 2016 the contractor was changed, and the service now runs under the banner of the Wellington Regional Council using the trade name "Metlink".
