Wellington is the capital of New Zealand. The urban area has approximately 400,000 inhabitants. One of its features is the passenger rail system, which moves about a fifth of all workers in the Greater Wellington region each weekday.
Recently, the city's Courtenay Place featured another red-carpet Peter Jackson film premiere with overseas stars - this time "King Kong".

The location where Wellington is situated has been inhabited by Maori since about the 14th century. It was named Wellington in 1840.
